Job Summary
The Early Childhood Educator will provide a quality caring and supportive child care program to members of the Nazko First Nation community that addresses their unique child care needs, meets all regulatory standards required by federal, provincial and municipal governments. This position will be facilitated on the Nazko Reservation and reports to the Health Director.
Qualifications / Assets
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Current BC License to Practice
- Documentation in accordance with Community Care Facilities Branch licensing requirements
- An understanding of the issues that affect children and their families
- Excellent interpersonal skills with parents, community members
- Cultural competency
- Mature and responsible attitude towards work
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Valid BC drivers license
- Criminal record check
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences with the centre's philosophy
2. Individualize the curriculum
3. Ensure guidance of children's behaviour that encourages positive self-concept
4. Ensure the child's environment is healthy and safe
5. Ensure positive communication with parents
6. Contribute to the ongoing operations of the centre
Working Conditions
Travel to Nazko Monday to Thursday dependant upon weather conditions
- $25.00 per hour
- Benefit Plan after 3-month successful probation
